This week we have been discussing fire prevention. As you have already learned kitchen fires are a common occurrence, but so are burns on children from kitchen mishaps. Cooking is a necessary life skill for children to learn, but make sure you teach them from a young age kitchen safety. Scalds and burns can happen very quickly. 3 feet is a good distance to keep small children away from hot surfaces, boiling water or foods.
***and as always remember to test your smoke detectors and change the batteries often.
